Guymon Ensley ~ GEQ Jazz: Getjazzed Trio

"Getjazzed Trio" plays the classics that were written and performed by the legends of jazz. The group performs without percussion so that the essence of chord progression and melody can be clearly heard. The band's repertoire includes jazz standards, bebop and original compositions.
Bandleader/trumpeter Guymon Ensley writes many of the original pieces for the group's unique instrumentation. Along with Ensley on trumpet and flug
el horn, are Marion Heyden on upright bass, and pianist Phil Lesky. The original compositions have a unique sound, but noted jazz standards such as "Take The A Train" and "Satin Doll" or Ensley's own "Oops Oh Well," take on a special dimension without the "crash-bang" of drums. The band's presentation is especially suited for background or featured music at: Corporate Events, Banquets, Wedding Receptions and Dinner Parties.____________________________________________________
Imagine "Stella By Starlight" or "Nica's Dream" or a beboping original swinging at a medium volume while dinner participants or guests arrive . . . elegant "jazz" by Getjazzed Trio as a backdrop. The bass is walking, the piano/guitar is marking the chord progressions and a muted trumpet stating the melody . . . a toe or two will began to tap as they recognize the song. Situated in a recessed area in the large lobby area or a small section of the large ball room, is Getjazzed Trio, playing cool and notable numbers as "'Round Midnight" or "Speak No Evil," but without any percussion.
Or, as the servers bring in the salads or appetizers, Getjazzed Trio is swinging at a pleasing volume, presenting the "wall paper," swinging with recognizable standards as "So What" by Miles or Tranes "My Favorite Things." What a pleasent change from the typical singer and piano player setup.
Another quiet, yet unforgettable elegant presentation of the jazz classics is what "Getjazzed Trio" delivers.___________________________________________________
